As I sit here, my mind is a whirlwind of thoughts and ideas. It’s a jumble, a cacophony of plans and uncertainties. In moments like these, I find myself reaching out, not just in hope, but in a heartfelt plea for clarity and wisdom. “O Lord,” I whisper, “help me to trust in You.”
The words from Proverbs 3:5-6 echo through my mind, offering solace and direction: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Remembering My Calling
In this moment of introspection, I reflect on what I know, what I believe God has placed on my heart:
Firstly, a calling to teach, a purpose that feels both daunting and profoundly fulfilling. Then, the nudging to begin streamlining my life, preparing to pack up and move forward. There are these material possessions, especially furniture I’ve inherited—items that seem trivial but carry sentimental weight.
He is Worthy
Yet, I am reminded: He is worthy of surrendering everything. This life we live is fleeting, a mere breath in the grand scheme of eternity. He is Jehovah Rapha, the healer of all aspects of our beings—physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. His desire is for none to perish but for all to find repentance.
Grounding Myself with Scriptures
And so, the Scriptures guide me further:
- Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 teaches us to fear Him and keep His commandments: to love Him and others as ourselves.
- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 urges us to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances.
- 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 calls us to live sanctified lives, avoiding sexual immorality.
- Hebrews 13:20-21 promises that He equips us with everything good for doing His will.
- Luke 9:23 instructs us to deny ourselves daily, take up our crosses, and follow Him.
- Micah 6:8 reminds us to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.
In the midst of these reflections, my heart swells with gratitude. “O Father,” I proclaim, “You are the King of kings and the Lord of lords.”
My desire is clear—to follow after Him, to find rest and peace in His presence. In Him alone, I know I will find the clarity and wisdom I seek.
Ongoing Journey
As I navigate the uncertainties ahead, I hold fast to these truths. They anchor me, guiding my steps and shaping my decisions. Trusting in His guidance, I move forward, knowing that He will make my paths straight.
This is an ongoing journey. If you find yourself resonating with these words, know that you’re not alone. Let’s walk this path of trust and surrender together, seeking the clarity and peace that only God can provide.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of clarity and wisdom You offer. You are our rock, our unshakeable foundation. In moments of uncertainty, help us find rest and unwavering trust in You. We confess our forgetfulness, Father. Grant us the strength to remember Your constant presence and unwavering love each and every day. True peace, we know, can only be found in You. Amen.
